Book List

First, I must express my sincerest gratitude to my readers for book suggestions. They will be invaluable to my research.

Below is a list of books I have read in the last several years about Americans abroad. This list does include books that fall into the category of creative nonfiction. I have not yet decided whether to include this genre. In addition, I must also mention that some of these books are far from literary masterpieces (i.e., The Train to Potevka).

Once again, I would appreciate any feedback on this list (presented in alphabetical order):

Very sad to say I've only read two of those.

You shouldn't be sad. The only reason I've read most of these books is because of my unhealthy obsession with Ukraine.

That's an great list. I haven't read many of them, but a couple are on my to-read list. I recently finished A Train to Potevka, a book that opened with potential but then turn a turn away from an exciting story to reflect on growing up in small-town Utah and being Mormon. If you are looking at Americans abroad, have you considered any of the books being written by soldiers who've served abroad? Beyond Band of Brothers, a memoir by Dick Winters has lots of American abroad flare.

Bryan, thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't even thought of soldiers. That would bring another dynamic to the table.

I did want to mention that Anglo-American often refers to Anglo (British) and American. However, I will still concentrate in my presentation on Americans (rather than British) abroad.
